The Believing/Doubting Game
We all spend too much time in our heads, telling ourselves things, doubting things we think we know and most especially during the tumultuous emotional time surrounding the end of a relationship. Try this:
The next time you find yourself wound around a recurring thought, suppose what you are telling yourself is not true. What are the consequences? Would you be doing anything differently? Would you be feeling any differently?
Then suppose that the statement is true. What are the consequences then? What, if anything should you do then?
